Keep It Super Simple

K.I.S.S. (Keep It Super Simple).

For those of you who are aware of my latest Iris Brand, VA update, you are also aware of my distaste for WordPress websites. The time and aggravation one has to waste in keeping up with WordPress causes me to pity anyone who chooses WordPress as a viable DIY option. And forget getting anyone else to do it for you timely. Believe me! They're too busy pulling their hair out trying to keep up with their own websites.

This is a simple HTML/CSS website and that makes my life simple. No parse errors shutting down my site, no research on how to fix each parse error, no vendors blasting ads throughout my dashboard, no trying to figure out if I actually need what they are selling to keep my site running to par, no updates or plugins required, and no more money blowing to the wind on Wordpress craziness. I am done with Wordpress forever - unless, of course, YOU need me to fix YOUR parse error for a fee. From now on, I will be paid to do anything with Wordpress or I won't do it at all.

I work offline. It's private and nobody can waltz into my dashboard with their little briefcase in tow. Plus, back-ups are automatic because it's on my desktop before it loads to the web. I cannot tell you how much weight lifted off my shoulders when I finally got brave enough to delete every single Wordpress file and database from my virtual server account. It felt like I had just been released from POW camp.

Now, I am free to write on blank canvases without having to go through a bunch of Wordpress jargon or permissions first. And I can keep my site up-to-date while I spend time working on the next project to feature. I actualy have time for my crafts now. It's strange how stiffling a website can be when you complicate it with unnecessary technology. My goal is information and service - not becoming the world's most aggravated artist. Writing is an art. Websites are also an art. And keeping it uniform and simple is a prerequisite at the top of my list from this day foward.

I love being able to come in from my day job to write and load a page within an hour or two with no tension in my bones wondering what's going to happen next on a Wordpress dashboard. It's absolutely fabulous to be in possession of so much peace that my heart is literally dancing for joy. Now, when someone calls to ask, "Can you come help with this or do you have time to tell me how to do that," I can jump to any task, while knowing my little page will be safe and secure to finish when I get back.

Conclusion: Contact me if I can help you with anything.
